What is web hosting?
Web hosting is a computer somewhere running 24/7 for you, hosted by some web hosting company and optimized for obvious web hosting.
Here dilemma comes which one is cheaper, which one is better, which one is more reliable, more affordable etc.
There are a lot of web hosting companies, but from my experience, SiteGround is the best and that’s why I’m writing about SiteGround hosting and compare to iPage and HostGator.
SiteGround is the best web hosting in 2018 so far, here you can see that iPage has better value overall than HostGator but in reality, HostGator is a little bit better if you take everything. I’ve tested best web hosting companies for 2019 and SiteGround took first place, HostGator took second place while iPage took third place, detailed HostGator review.
When you start to make research, read reviews, customer testimonials, etc. You can see in every review most highlighted is the price or web hosting the main website, they all highlighted price which is a really important part of the overall assessment.
But how you can really know that one web hosting is reliable and it will never leave you in the lurch.
You can see from other web hosting companies that they have 30 or 45 days money back guarantee, but why they need that limit if they are sure in their services.
This is also the case with HostGator, they have 45 days money back guarantee no question asked, iPage has a 30-day money back guarantee same as SiteGround’s 30-day money back guarantee. You need to watch out when you want to sing up for web hosting.
Next thing is how web hosting thinks for the most used hosting and that it’s shared web hosting.
SiteGround, HostGator and iPage all have unlimited bandwidth and one great feature that give equal speed to all web hosting users.
HostGator monitor all bandwidth and if someone has a website which takes 90% of the traffic of shared server he is they will email the user and give him 48 hours to sing up for a better plan. IPage, SiteGround and all other hosting companies do this.
Disk space is the next part of the overall assessment, HostGator don’t have a limit which is great for cheaper $2.75 first month plan, but limits you to only one website, iPage has unlimited disk space for only $2.99 but for every month of your plan not as HostGator’s only first month $2.75 then bigger price. iPage is cheapies and has the best price-performance ratio.
Next part is email, if you are the business user you want to have email unlimited storage, HostGator has no limit same as iPage, and it’s great to have that “business” feeling with the cheapest plan.
With the cheapest web hosting plan HostGator limit you to only one domain name which is good thing NOT bad, you want to be equal with other as new and not some user to abuse that price and slow down everyone who is sharing that server with more websites, one shared server host about 3000 websites (information from web hosting supports). All other plans have unlimited domains and cost more of course. Here iPage has unlimited domains and it’s pretty close in speed compared to HostGator so props to iPage.
Last part is up time on the server. Here you want web hosting company to guarantee to you that server uptime is at least 99% of the time nothing less. With great WordPress optimization you can help the hosting be even better and website load fast. Caching helps up time a lot, minimizing CSS and JavaScript also helps a lot, compressing images and lazy load below the fold decrease the site a lot, leveraging browser caching (load files locally after more visits), etc.
SiteGround, HostGator and iPage have excellent 99.9% uptime on the server
I hope I helped you with this review to clear up some things about web hosting companies, you don’t need to read more reviews just sing up with SiteGround, HostGator or iPage, your choice, you are risk-free with anytime money back guarantee.
