HostGator VPS (virtual private server) review

In this review, I will focus on VPS and try to explain deeply how VPS works and what HostGator offers you in VPS plans. Let’s start this HostGator shared hosting and I will try to explain easily I can. With shared hosting, all customers share one Operating System I will continue to use OS below. Its simple one web hosting, one OS shared by many customers, that’s why this is the cheaper from VPS and dedicated hosting.

Dedicated hosting its opposite from shared hosting, one rack just for you how you want to be configured with full access to everything. With dedicated you are the only customer, they are more powerful in specs from VPS and about the same as shared and only one customer that mean really fast hosting.

VPS is in the middle between shared and dedicated, let me explain to you how VPS works. VPS stands for Virtual Private Server, it actually shared hosting but you have OS just for you private OS just like dedicated but hosted virtually. It’s a little bit confusing but I will try to explain that easily I can. Virtualization refers to a virtual machine that acts like real hardware computer with OS. You probably heard about VMware or Oracle’s VM VirtualBox software for OS virtualization.

We all should know how much web hosting speed influence on your website when we watch things from a customer perspective or Google perspective, great article on how to optimize and speed up WordPress.

Before you start your respective business online you should do research about hosting, their plans are affordable, reliable or just continue to read this review and things will you clarify.

HostGator use their own virtualization software and virtually give you your own private OS. Let’s imagine one rack divided into 10 parts. One of those 10 parts is only yours and no one can access (your OS) but all customers including you are sharing the whole rack or hosting. VPS server is used by few Operating Systems while shared hosting is used by around 3000 accounts (answer from many hosting supports).

Now I can continue this review and write for JustHost VPS plans.
